Perfect Weather Weekend

We had a perfect weather weekend with temperatures in the 60's and low 70's! Unfortunately Saturday night- Sunday morning Max was hit with a stomach bug and was throwing up. This was his mischievous face he gives me sometimes from before the sickness started.

We were running a few errands Saturday morning and we stopped at a garage sale where we found this really cool puppet show/theater thingy. Scored this for $15. I can't wait for garage sale season. We really got teased with nice weather. Can't beat a warm February in Georgia because there are hardly any BUGS or bees out yet!
We took Max to the neighborhood playground also on Saturday and he wouldn't get out of the swings. He kept wanting us to push him, we almost caught him falling asleep in it at one point! He was a swing lover as a baby so maybe it brings back fond memories!

Happy boy!
This was a picture from when he was finally eating/drinking and feeling better Sunday. He was saying hi to Auntie Shelly. After the throwing up stopped we walked in to find him sitting on his chair (pictured above) and he had a t-shirt on and all we could see was bubbling POOP coming from his pants and all the way UP his back. I mean I know that's TMI, but thank goodness we walked in and saw it. He immediately went in the bath tub and the damage wasn't as bad as it could have been. He hasn't gotten sick since yesterday morning so hopefully it's gone and no one else gets it!

Max is 2! Official Stats and Info

My big boy is now 2!
This picture was taken just after a recent haircut.
Stats-
Weight: 23 lbs 4 oz (4%)
Height: 33 1/2" (26%)
HC: 18 1/2 (11%)
Teeth: We think 16.
New Developments- He is a little talking machine. We tried to write down every word he said in a 1 day span and we were well over 50 after 2 hours. There really isn't any word he doesn't know. He is getting better at 2 word/mini sentences. His memory is also very sharp. I mentioned that he had Elmo on his diaper and he said Elmo... Cry. I then remembered we went to Everland play where Elmo came out and he was scared and cried a little because he didn't want to see real life Elmo. He then liked him and says bye bye because he had to say bye to Elmo.  He also stays busy with his mini tools, trucks and loves any balls and balloons he can get his hands on.
These are a few pics from our snow days a few weeks ago.
He still loves playing with the neighborhood kids any chance he gets (and of course daddy).

He finally is starting to like his preschool. Yesterday he started singing ring around the rosie. We have sang that to him maybe once or twice and he started dancing and does all fall down! I asked him if he learned that at school and he shouts YESS! He also started doing his fingers for itsy bitsy spider. He paints and plays with the other kids. Next year he will be doing the 3 day a week class from 9:30-1:30 at the same church/school.

Food- He is definitely a more picky eater than he was at 1 year and even 18 months. He will eat almost any kind of fruit all day if you let him. He loves his waffles in the morning (I started that because I have to eat as soon as I get up because baby girl is starving in there I guess). He'll then eat cereal and fruit in the mornings. For lunch we usually do a sandwich, with cheese stick and grapes. It's hard finding vegetables that he likes. He will not even touch frozen microwaveable vegetables (unless they are peas). We found out that fresh green beans cooked are on the go list and also softened cooked carrots. He doesn't like zucchini or potatoes. He says either Me no like or like it, NO. Dinner we really just serve what we are having, but I make sure at least one part of the meal either it be the meat, noodles or peas/beans that he likes is a part of it. I am not one to make a whole separate meal to cater. I have also started our smoothies back at night (just too rushed in the mornings now). We sometimes do get in the bad habit of letting him watch a show while eating because it distracts him and he just eats or we can shovel it in. I wouldn't be as concerned if he didn't have a hard time gaining weight.
Sleep- He is a great napper! Man, do you remember those days of hardly any sleeping and napping. It all seems so distant, I guess we will soon find out what that's all about again here in a few months. He naps for at least 2 hours every day, sometimes regularly 3 unless it's school days because he gets home so late. We are still bathing (every other day) around 7:30/7:45pm and going up to read books at 8:15 and bed by 8:30pm. I know a lot of people put their kids to bed in the 7pm hour but that's just not feasible with me getting home from work at 5:30/6pm. Summer is also coming and he stays up a little later because it's so nice and bright out. He will usually sleep soundly until 7:15am when I get him up. Occasionally he will cry in the middle of the night, but it's usually related to being sick or he had a bad day at school so his sleep throughout the day was off, too.

Upcoming goals before baby is here in 4 months: Move Max into a big boy bed (little sissy is taking over the white crib/furniture/glider), take away the pluggy (pacci), and potty train little mister. He is definitely about ready for the potty training, but due to his school I don't want them to have to deal with accidents or keeping up with that so we are probably waiting till beg. of May to start that. I am so nervous about the pacci. He just loves going in his crib because of it and it occupies him to just lay there or I think he would just scream or try to get out. I told him that the little babies need to have it and he needs to pass it on and he just shouts NO, mine!
Flash back picture to when he was a year! Still just as cute.

Pregnancy #2 Survey- Week 21 & 22

How Far Along: 21 & 22 weeks. There really isn't a ton new so I'm probably going to start combining some of these. I'm actually 23 weeks today, so this is just flying by!

Size of baby: At the last doctor appointment baby girl was 1 lb 3 oz!

Total Weight Gain: 7 ish lbs so far, this is definitely going to start picking up but I'm not worried about it.

What I miss: The weather is getting warmer and I've been craving a lot of mexican. And you know what goes great with mexican food... Margaritas!! I'm so glad that I will be having this baby in the beginning of summer!

Sleep: I'm getting good at getting up a few times for the bathroom and going right back to sleep.

Symptoms: Feeling good this week, I've had a few times where I feel heartburn but it really just feels like my ribs are swollen in front and back. I can't even lay down because the pressure on it. The doctor said it was my ribs expanding, but I don't think that's it. It's definitely food/heartburn related.

Cravings: Mexican. Have you guys been to the new Tin Lizzies at the MOG? I LOVE it there. They have the best specialty tacos and the guacamole is awesome. We went there for Valentines dinner.

Aversions: Nothing.

Gender- Baby Girl! Any name suggestions? I am so indecisive on these kinds of things. Just taking all the names I see around in and sorting through. Nothing is standing out at this point so nothing to report.

Movement: She is starting to get really lively in the belly. She moves a lot in the car when I drive and at night before bed. She is active all day really, but I just notice her more when I am sitting still I guess.

Maternity Clothes: Need to buy some work pants. I can barely pull my regular pants up around my bottom. Just holding them up with the bellaband, fully unbuttoned/zipped.

Best Moments this week: Starting to brainstorm nursery ideas and basement remodeling ideas!

What I'm looking forward to: I need to start tackling this to-do list of Max's baby books, pregnancy books and move forward to planning out Max's big boy room. Anyone have a good suggestion on reasonably priced big boy furniture? Going to go with the woodsy, where the wild things are room for him so going to do a darker wood twin bed. Beds/furniture are EXPENSIVE though, but I guess it will last a while.

Milestones: Have I mentioned that I have the best and sweetest neighbors ever?! Well, it's true. We are so lucky. Not only does my neighbor, Meredith give me clothes her little boy has outgrown for Max, she also gave me the prettiest nursery set (sheets, bumper, crib skirt, lamp shade and more) for baby girl that she has kept and most of it is unopened from pottery barn kids. I really haven't even thought about baby girl's nursery so this is perfect! I'll do a separate brainstorming and sharing post soon.
Here are some fun pics from the past few weeks. 21 weeks.
22 weeks!
Not sure where Max was to photobomb my photos, but I'm sure he'll make a return in the next photos.

Max's Curious George 2nd Birthday Party!

We had the best weekend celebrating Max's 2nd Birthday! The theme was Curious George.
Cousin Hadley and Max were two peas in a pod! I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.
For the favors I ordered Curious George books from ebay to pass out to all the kids.  We also made curious George Masks from pbs kids website.  I got the idea from another party on pinterest to make a guest book out of the Curious George birthday book. That turned out pretty well. It was hard to keep up with everyone, but we have a lot of messages for the birthday boy.
Max has a small table so I set it up as the coloring station. They also had printables on pbs.com so I printed those on cardstock.
We turned the dining rom into the eatery. We borrowed tables and chairs from family (thanks!!) and my cousins did the streamer hanging. I stuck with the blue, red and yellow color scheme throughout.
I made a yellow hat out of the cup and plates (thanks Pinterest).
Pretty girl Hadley and her cute outfit! She had her birthday shirt from when she turned 1 as curious George so it was perfect!
I went with colored paper lanterns, little mini fans and balloons for the rest of the decorations.

We had a game of Pin the Hat on Curious George that we played from here.
Drink table. Jucie boxes for the kiddos and adult juice punch for the adults (preggos excluded).
Gift and Pizza tables waiting.
Family photo. I found an adorable Curious George zip up hoodie with monkey ears at target on clearance a month or so ago and it was perfect for the party!
One without the ears.
Precious boy. Just love him so.
My sister and our littles. We both decided on navy stripes for the party and neither of us wanted to change.
Who do you call when you don't want to make your own cake, why the cake lady of course!  She was given that name by brides around our area. She did our wedding cake! She was so reasonably priced and I just LOVE how it turned out. George is actually a flash light that I found on Ebay and the 2 is from Party City (thanks to D & S for picking that up for us).
Thank goodness it was such a nice day out. We had most the kids and some family outside hanging out. We ended up with almost 50 guests (35 adults, 15 kids) so it helped us all not feel cramped.
I also kept it simple with Riverside pizza of course, and fruit salad.
David's mom painted this great monkey face cut out for everyone to pose for pictures with. I just love how it came out!! So cute.
The older kids loved the game.
The little kids just wanted to go up and stick their hats on. They still weren't close even with their eyes open haha.
Time to sing Happy Birthday or as Max says Happy Day.
He did pretty well blowing out the candle, but we had to help a little!
My 2nd cousins (left) just moved to the area from NC (originally from NY, where I'm from). Their parents (my 1st cousins) next to them are moving in a few months. Then we have a family friend and his son from NY who moved to the area, Michelle, Gigi and me! So that's a whole lot of NY in GA! It's great having family so close now. We're waiting for the rest of you :)
Max had fun opening presents later that evening. He really got into it and started really getting into it.
Our neighborhood friends know Max so well. They got him this GIGANTIC indoor/outdoor bouncing ball. He absolutely loves it. He really loved all his gifts. We are so thankful for everyone and their generosity.
My mom and sister were busy helping me get ready for Max's big boy room. We're sticking with the Where the Wild Things are theme since I really didn't do the nursery when we moved. My mom made the pillows and blanket. My sister found a great matching quilt for his twin sheets for when he gets his big boy bed.
Max also got a cool scooter from family friends. Its actually made for 2year olds and is very sturdy.
All the big kids in the neighborhood have scooters so now Max can fit right in with his (with plenty of supervision of course).
A few other favorites were this tool kit set with goggles! He looks silly, but I love it! He loves to say bang bang bang when hammering.
Auntie Marla and Uncle Chris got him this great Chair with his name on it. It's going to go perfect with his big boy room.
Hadley was right on board to show Max how to use the chair.
Max of course found his own use (jumping from the couch to the chair)... It was a great party and I can't believe my little boy is 2 years old! Thank you to everyone who helped, came, sent gifts, and was a part of his special day near and far. We all felt the love! I seriously forget I am pregnant sometimes when I'm so busy with Max, but I sure felt it that night being sore in my back and feet (the next day too)!
