New Roof

We finally got our new roof! This past February in Atlanta we had some storms that had caused hail damage to roofs in the northern Georgia counties. We kept noticing all our neighbors getting roofs and we finally asked one day what was going on. I was hoping it wasn't time to replace roofs because our house is less than 10 years old. They confirmed that there was a lot of hail damage to the roofs if you got up and looked at it. We had our insurance company come out and take a look. They verified we did have damage and we were a candidate for a new roof. This process took quite a long time to even get started. Here are some photos of the work being done.

Here is the after! It's hard to see on this view, but they are 30 year black architectural shingles

With the new looking roof we made a conclusion, we need to pressure wash the outside of the house! Everything else now looks dirty after getting a brand new roof! I have started a list of house projects for the short term and long term that we want to get done. I figure we spend so much time here we might as well get going on some easier/cheaper projects soon.  David is fixing the inside back door area where we've had water damage on the hard wood floors (since we moved in). More to come on that later. Pin It

wow looks like a brand new house! A good pressure wash will make it sparkle! Now for Christmas decor, you'll need to get those shingle clips from lowes, they rock!

Yeah, the pressure wash is just the right thing to do, especially since your home's exterior is painted white. Well, it seems you've started the year right with that new roof! How's the roof now? Your home looks legit overall! :)

Well, Atlanta has a humid subtropical climate which gives it slightly cooler winters. In that case, if your roof isn't insulated well, that can be a problem. Good thing you were able to replace your roof with a new one. How's the roof as of now?

Atlanta is one of the many cities that are always hit by calamities. That’s why you have to make sure that you have a roof of good quality so that it’ll be able to withstand the strong winds and heavy rains. Well, it's been two years since you installed a new roof. I hope that your roof is still as lovely as it is in the pictures! :)

The roof really looks great! For you to keep it in good condition, make sure that you regularly clean and maintain it. If you happen to see a problem, fix it immediately or ask for the help of an expert. Never go for a temporary solution, because it will not completely resolve the problem. It may even turn the small problem into a bigger one.
