Florida- Day 3!

Saturday morning we got up early to go hang out with Jessica, Jason and baby Alivia. We went to Hannah park so the boys could do a little surfing and the girls could hang out at the beach. I had the best time holding and playing with Alivia. She is adorable and always happy.
Driving through the park to the beach there is so many trees, its a really pretty scenic park. A lot of people ride their bikes and run in there. Shortly after we arrived David was trying to catch some waves and ended up running into someone and hitting his nose on his board.
Sorry about the closeup, I was taking a picture so I could show David what it looked like. I thought he had broken his nose. It looked a little swollen and crooked. He had to get out of the water for a bit, because blood and sharks don't mix well. After icing it for a little while, he was good to go and back in the water he went.
How adorable is she!
Here is David and Jason with their surf boards. They are both Jasons, he is so handy, he resurfaced the long board.
Me and David with his new flippers he got while down there. Since he sold all of his diving gear he purchased a few essential items to have at home, you know for the pool and all.
Here's us gals doing what we do best, lounging in the sun. Even Alivia was enjoying herself.
Isn't her bathing suit cute, too?

David in action up on the surfboard.
I think he was wiping out on this one, but its still a cool photo with the waves.
This was Alivia's first time touching the water and the sand. Her reactions were really fun. We had such a fun time hanging out and having lunch with them at their house. Y'all are going to be great parents. Stay tuned to tomorrow's post on my birthday dinner with everyone.

Florida- Day 2!

We started the day running errands (stuff we didn't have time to do in GA) like going to walmart and target to exchange and buy things. We went to the town center after wards. It is an outdoor mall that had just opened when we were living there.  It has really change a lot! It was hard to show you pictures, but this is the overall feel of the place. It looks upscale and Miami-ish to me.
Later that night we went to an arena football game with Chris and Marla. The team is called the Jacksonville Sharks and it was a playoff game. As a promo they were giving away "blood towels". It was quite amusing to see all the differnt ways David and Chris could use the towels.
View from the arena. You can see the baseball field and the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium in the background. All venues had games going on that night.
Here we are before the game started with our Sharks gear.
Everyone in the arena waived their towels throughout the whole game. We had bar stool seats that were very cool, but some of our view was obstructed so we moved seats to be closer later in the game.
I don't think David let me take any photos of his blood towel poses, but I have a great one of my brother... Enjoy!
Somebody had a few too many beers :)

Whose House......Our House- Trip to Georgia Southern

We stopped in Statesboro, GA on our way down to Florida. We haven't been back in 4 years, since Michelle graduated. We had the best time going to our old hang out places and seeing how things changed. We did a driving tour with a few stops. Sorry this post is kinda long, I got picture happy because I was so excited.
As we came into town we passed by our favorite Mexican restaurant, El Sombrero. They seem to be doing some renovations.
We ended up eating lunch at Nikko Express. Nikko's is/was our favorite restaurant in the boro, but unfortunately the sit down restaurant (located next door) is only open for dinner.
It really didn't matter, because they have the same exact food so I was a happy camper. I had a chicken teriyaki bowl with salad and ginger dressing. It is the best ginger dressing ever made and you can't find anything like it.
Here I am enjoying my meal. I got the large size and actually had leftovers to bring with us. We got a cooler and packed it in (it was worth it). A big thanks to david for saving me his salad and ginger dressing. That's love for ya and the best birthday present.
Here is David standing at the real Nikkos showing his sad face that we couldn't eat there.
Check this yucky mess out. They are cleaning houses/apartments and getting ready for the new arrivals.
This is David's townhouse that he lived in throughout college when I knew him. They still look the same.
Here is a closer view of their door, where David spent many nights out on the front steps hanging out (his words not mine).
Here is my apartment building! They have spruced it up with some paint.
Ours was located on the top floor. I was tempted to go in, but we were short on time.
Check out these new housing options. I've never seen these and thought they were cool.
We then headed onto campus to go to the bookstore. The have redone most of the on campus dorms and everything looks so tall now. I felt so short!
Here I am walking out of the bookstore. We spent a good bit of money, but its for a good cause right!
We wanted to take a quick drive by of the bar area and wanted to give a shout out to the Fast & Easy. It's a convenient store, that's well, Fast & Easy.
Here is Rum Runners where we frequented to get some yummy frozen washing machine drinks (the ones that are in the wall and go around like a front load washing machine). Our overall opinion of the bar area was that it was REALLY run down, but I guess you don't notice at night after a few beverages!
We also drove by the place we met and you've heard me talk about.
The bland house!
Here is the side yard and exact spot we met. The yard looks a lot smaller than I remember!
We drove around all the buildings and through campus. Our final stop was the GSU entrance. We had a mini photo shoot in the middle of the road.
David's turn!
We set the camera on a timer in the middle of the road while cars were coming, it was interesting. The camera died after we took 1 shot. It was fully charged before we got to Statesboro and I went nuts. It was a fun detour and we hope to get to a game this year! Go Eagles!

We're back from our trip to Florida!

We just returned home last night from our long weekend trip to Jacksonville/St. Augustine Florida. We had a great time and I'll take the week to break it up into parts to show you. Since I'm still getting the photos organized I'll start with our fun dinner at La Napolera. If you've talked to my brother before, then you know he loves mexican and this is their favorite place to go. It is located just outside their neighborhood. We got there Thursday right at Dinner time so this was the perfect place to go.
The service was so fast. They had our drinks to the table in probably 30 seconds after we ordered, including my margarita.
If you ask my sister the only thing to order is a big beer, but I enjoyed my yummy frozen margarita.
Here is the rest of the gang- David, Chris and Marla.

Happy Birthday Michelle!!!

Tomorrow is the birthday of the best sister ever! It also happens to be mine too. We've spent a few birthdays apart, but its never as fun. So this post is all for her! I will share some things I love best about her.
She is the best to eat food with- we love to eat, all the time and she is just like me! She is also the best taster. She cooks pretty well, but would rather I do it, so shes always willing to taste and eat everything I make.

She is the best to shop with! She is pretty much my personal shopper, plus I can usually shop in her closet. Since we don't live close our shopping trips are a few times a year. I tried to steal some clothes from her the last time she was here, but it didn't work out.

She is the best to "watch" shows with. We coordinate our nightly schedules and record and watch the shows at the same time. It's fun to share reactions. We're considering this a hobby so shh. This photo was taken last christmas when it snowed in TX. It was so fun!

Happy 27th Birthday Michelle!! Wish you were here to hang with us!

A Few More River Shots

I grabbed these photos off of my camera to just show some of the scenery floating down the river. We saw a herring hanging out.
You can also see how clear the water is. You can see most the way down, I just wish it were warm enough to actually go in!
Close up shot.
David and I doing what we do best! Me hanging and floating down the lazy river and David enjoying a beverage.
Shot down the river. I'll leave you with one final photo that sums up our trip. This is Darrin after he made us pull over so he could use the bathroom on land (the woods).
