The Pinterest Party Results Are In!

We started the pinterest party off with yummy food and beverages.

On the menu was Kerry's delicious Eclair Cake.

Erin brought this amazing skinny funfetti cake dip via a recipe she found on Pinterest. My picture doesn't do it justice. It tasted JUST like the cake batter, but its safely edible and delicious!

I supplied the margaritas,

Some dip and I made my M & M bars. We had way too much food for us, but we didn't mind one bit.

One of the highlights of my night was getting to use Erin's cricut machine. I love it, but it is a lot of pressure to make sure your design is straight when applying the vinyl.

My first project was to clean my make up brushes with hot water and vinegar followed by rinses. I thought this would be an easy task, but I have to say...

Pinterest Fail. My makeup caked up to the top of my brushes and did not look good. Mom ended up just washing them with some dawn dish soap and that worked WAY better.

My next project was converting t-shirts to wall art via canvas. I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased 8 x 10 canvas for a decent price and used a staple gun to staple the t-shirt to the canvas. It was a fairly easy task, but the staple gun was harder to press than I anticipated so it hurt my hand.

I only ended up doing Max's Wild Thing T-shirt and 1 old Cheer shirt. They came out great though and I will finish them at some point. Success!

Erin made these adorable magnets from scrapbook paper

And helped me with this monogram vinyl for this clear cup she had. How cute is this!

It takes a long time to do one and we were all too busy talking, drinking and eating to do a complicated project. This is our finished product... JK. She used foam padding and batting around the chair. It is quite comfy now and I can't wait till we finish (pics to follow-someday). Yay Mom!

Kerry really embraced pinterest for her project. She decided on a burlap wreath. Now, haven't we all wanted to make one of these?! She found a GREAT tutorial and was able to make this faster than any of us with our projects.

I mean seriously, this looks professionally done. Fantastic Job Kerry! Success!

Here we all are with our projects. We had a few gals who were unable to make it to the party, but we will definitely have another one so hit me up if you are interested.

David was taking the pictures and said "OK, now look away." Apparently Kerry and I were the only ones to take direction.

Pinterest Party- This Weekend

This weekend I am hosting a pinterest party with some of my girl friends. I am tired of pinning things and not creating anything I've pinned. We are going to have a little food and beverage and work on some projects. Everyone is going to bring supplies for what they want to work on. Here is an idea list I had for mine.

My first one is an easy one, but something I've been putting off for seriously forever. Haven't you pinned a bunch of makeup tips for cleaning off your brushes. Well, so have I and I've never cleaned them (I tried just washing them but they got gunked together after that). This one uses just vinegar and hot/cold water. So although this one isn't craft, it's from pinterest and I'm going to do it!

My next one I thought I would take all my old Georgia Southern cheerleading shirts that are old and have holes in them and make t-shirt canvases. I also want to make one for Max's room from his 1st b-day party Wild Things shirt. The caption from my pinterest says "because who has time to make a t-shirt quilt." True that.

Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday!

We have been busy with Max's birthday party prep and getting the house in order for guests! My Aunt Kathy is coming tomorrow from NY and my brother and sister (and their spouses & Hadley) will be coming Friday. It seems I haven't posted anything substantial in a while, but that's because I can't show you yet or I'd spoil the party! If you follow me on instagram (jens871) then you got a few sneak peeks. Since I don't have a lot to say in my personal life right now I thought I'd link up with The Vintage Apple for Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday!

We have a small space in our entry foyer area opposite our stairway that I haven't decided if I'd like to make a little mud room type space. We do have a small closet close by where I throw my shoes, but this might be nice for a little extra storage. I love the bead board and hardware.

If you've never heard of The Creativity Exchange then you must go now (well after you finish reading my post). I found her through pinterest as she pins a lot of paint colors. She has a great pinterest board that she shows painted rooms and names the exact paint color that is used. This is awesome because you don't just see a paint swatch you can see it utilized in a space. She recently did a post on finishes for a wall. I am loving the strie treatment (the blues above) and textured looking walls. It really looks like wall paper but its not!

Cyndy from the creativity exchange also told me about Jeff Lewis Paint colors coming out. I am not sure if you are fans of Flipping Out (his show on Bravo) but if you haven't seen it, you need to. He is a brilliant designer, but his direct and blunt personality is what makes the show. He is selling them through Dunn Edwards paint and as of right now it's only available in a few states (GA not included). I love the earthy deep and calming tones. Cyndy tells me that the price per gallon will be comparable to Sherwin Williams and the other name brands.

I also found these yard dice for playing Yahtzee via pinterest. I finally found the proper link to where they sell them and they seem to be sold out. I thought it was a cool concept though.

Last, but not least I really love this gallery wall. Maybe it's because of all the unique pieces they have displayed, but I also like the paint color. It goes really well with the linen mats they've used. I foresee a navy/blueish wall somewhere in my house one day!

Dessert Crescent Rolls and Fun Pinterest Ideas

I told you I have been craving desserts lately so after dinner on Sunday I decided to make these based on a recipe I found on pinterest.

Dessert Crescent Rolls
1 package of crescent rolls
Peanut butter
Chocolate or choc. chips
Nutella (optional)

Unroll your crescent rolls and spread a thin layer of peanut butter down. The recipe calls for nutella, but they were all out at walmart (I've never even tried it before). Place chocolate chips or a mini chocolate bar inside.

Roll them up and bake for 8-10 minutes on 350.

We had strawberries so I decided to add them to the dish and they were the perfect combination.

This was so fast and easy, you must give it a try.

My sister also tried a pinterest idea that I wanted to share.

Here is her final product. Michelle says she'd buy the kitchenaid mixer just for this purpose alone lol.

She made this black bean and corn salad to put it in. Looks fantastic!

Here is a random picture of my sweet little baby (for now) relaxing on the couch this weekend. She doesn't fully realize there will be another little baby around the house soon. I think I should play some crying baby noises to familiarize her. David was napping the other day and I did play a crying baby from youtube to see if he'd wake up and sure enough after about 3 seconds he got up, that was a fun test.

I saw this on pinterest and thought it would be the coolest thing ever if it worked.

I heard it did so I was anxious to see. The instructions were: The next time you have green onions, don't throw away the white ends. Simply submerge them in a glass of water and place them in a sunny window. Your onions will begin to grow almost immediately and can be harvested almost indefinitely.

I used green onions in that salad I showed you yesterday so it was the perfect timing. I just left the white ends and stuck them in water by the window sill. By the next morning I was shocked to see the green stems already growing. They are sprouting away still so I'll have to keep you updated.
