Max and Hadley's First Aquarium Visit

A few weekends ago while my sister came to town we went to the aquarium with the kids. It's been on our bucket list for a little while and we found some great discount tickets via travel zoo so off we went. The kids were free so we were set.
Max was very interested in all the big fish.

Look at his face, we just love him.
I'd say he's pretty excited.
James came in for the weekend so his little girl wouldn't go to the aquarium for the first time without him. His friends from SC also were in town for a little vaca so it was great to get together with everyone.
I realize I look gigantic here, but it's because the shirt is not a maternity shirt and sticks out.
Max was pretty into touching the sting rays. You can see Hadley in the background also trying.
Having fun with daddy who probably had more fun than Max!
The kids had the most fun in this little play area with windows that showed through. We could have just left them there all day.

I mean, just look at Hadley's face. This could also be where Hadley contracted the stomach bug/colds that we also got the next week.  haha
Matthew and Max were buddies and kept wanting to climb on everything, typical boys!
Talking to each other.
Beluga Whales

Penguins! Max was over things at this point so I just made sure we documented all the fun exhibits we saw.
He did enjoy the dolphin show although it got a bit dark for him and he kept asking for the lights to turn on.
On our way out we did one last exhibit where the aquariums go up and over head. Cool photos. Max liked the moving floor ride the best.

Group pic of everyone! We also enjoyed the best pizza in Atlanta (Antico Pizza) and a little Ikea trip. Max wasn't having a nap in there so we sat in the car for the 2nd half of the Ikea trip, but that's ok we live here. We'll definitely wait a bit next time as Max's patience wore out pretty quick. We did get there right around 9 when it opened at left around 12-12:30pm for lunch.

Weekend Wrapup

Max got a birthday present in the mail from my cousin, Nancy and her grand daughter Delilah.
We let him open it on his birthday since his party isn't for another week.
He did a great job opening the card and setting the little bits of paper off to the side.
He got some socks which he was very interested in!
And also some flash cards and an alphabet book.  Thank you Nancy!!  Max kept saying "ooooh Ooooh" while opening all the gifts.  It was very cute.
Mommy and Daddy got Max an iPod Touch (we sold one of our old iPhones and a 3D thingy you look through once you put your iPod in and you can play games.  He's too young for this, but we had fun playing.
We had a great time at the Blue Jean Ball Saturday night.  It was a fundraiser event for the cluster schools that Max will be going to one day.
I'll hopefully get a few more pictures of decor stuff to show you once I see what the photographer took.  I took this while we were helping set up.  They had hanging little mirrors dangling from the ceiling that we spun so when the light hit them it would sparkle more.  Look how cute the "skirt" is on the stage of all the jeans.  It was at Lake Lanier Islands Resort.  Very cool place.  It was also my first night away from the baby!  So thankful my Mom is there to watch Max.

Other Randoms-
-Huge Bummer... Our smash cake photographer canceled on us 2 days before our shoot (it was suppose to be Sunday).  Her family is really sick she said so I am super bummed.  I think we're going to try to do it ourselves Friday before his party Saturday  I really wanted to get his first reactions to cake.
-Max caught a bit of a cold/fever this weekend.  Thankfully it is short lived and he is feeling much better after some Tylenol and a good nights rest.
-This week is full on birthday party prep and cleaning house.  We have my Aunt Kathy coming in on Thursday and then Chris, Marla, James, Michelle and Hadley Friday. Pin It

Girls Nights Out

Although my time is now spent feeding, playing and taking care of Max there is still time to hang with the girls (thanks to my wonderful husband and mom for watching the baby). I've been meaning to post on this, but I love getting together with the girls.
Leah, Lacey and I met up a bit a go at Noche for some yummy food, good drinks and girl chat. Since we don't see each other every day (so sad) it's so great to catch up.

The fun doesn't stop there, David and I went to a wedding a few weeks ago and I had fun hanging with more fun gals.
Shout out to Carrie, Erin, Dana and Jenny.
Congrats to Angela! and here she is with her MOH and sister Kerry (love this photo). Such a great wedding.
We also recently went out to see Magic Mike with some more fun girls. We went to Movie Tavern where you can order food and drinks right at your seat! It was awesome and a lot of fun!

Steeplechase 2011!

Steeplechase 2011 was a success, weather and all! Last year we had rain and storms and this year it was kind of sunny and clear, but with lots of wind. We were so thankful to have the tent walls up as it kept our tent nice and warm. Thanks to David and Matt for setting everything up in a speedy fashion so we could keep warm in the truck!
I set up the table at home to see if I had enough supplies to decorate the table nice. We were a little rushed in setting up the table once we got there and it was so windy that my before pictures at home came out a lot better. Thanks to Stacey for the black table cloth, table, plastic glassware, extra dishes, pop up tent and chairs. My mom had made me these damask table squares for another event and I haven't used it so this was perfect, thanks Mom! Thanks to David's mom for the beverage container. Thanks to Gina and Mark for the other chairs. It's nice to have a huge family so you can borrow lots of things.
I thought it would be fun to put a white wine sangria drink in the beverage container as the centerpiece. I will post this recipe later, it was really tasty. We had some yummy food provided by everyone who came: chicken salad sandwiches, ham sandwiches, fruit salad, cheese and crackers, brownies, banana pudding and cupcakes.
The fun part of the whole day is just dressing up in your sun dresses and cute big hats. Lacey and I were twins in our hot pink dresses and white hats.
 Me and Kerry
 Andrea and Lacey
 Matt and Kerry
David and me. I even put one of my fabric flowers on my dress. I love them.
Here is our group that we fit in Davids truck. No one had been before except for David and I so it was fun to see their reactions. My hat was still in the car, I apologize for not keeping it on for every photo.
All the girls. Gina met us up there with Mark and the kids so we had to get more photos of course!
This picture speaks for itself. So glad they could come and hang with us again (they came last year, too)!
This is looking out the back side of our tailgate spot area. You can see all the cars and tents set up along the finish line.
There was bagpipe entertainment...
And of course the main event were the horse races. Gina got much better pics than me so these are her photos.
I love the way the sky looks in this photo. Thanks again to everyone who came and made this such a fun day! If you've never been, it really is something you need to do at least 1 year.
