Weekend Roundup

I don't have a ton of pictures to go with this post, but it was a pretty busy weekend around here. Molly was naughty and took out all her staples and sutras in a quick 10 min time span that we weren't watching her. The incision was pretty deep so she went to an emergency Vet to make sure everything was OK only to charge us a ton of money and want to charge us more to fix it. Luckily we waited till ours opened Saturday morning and he just re-stapled her up free of charge and said it looked fine. She now has the cone of shame on a majority of the day/night for these first few days as her wound heals.
Pretty tree we found in Athens
I got my hair cut finally on Saturday before David and I headed off to a wedding in Athens, GA. My hair dresser straitened it and put a little curl in for me, what a treat. Matt and Kaleigh got married. Matt is a paintball buddy of David's. It was at the Foundry Inn and Spa. Very cool place and great wedding. They had pizza and Italian food for dinner and that was OK by me. So yummy.
The rest of the weekend was spent hanging with Max, fixing my car (oh, I forgot to mention this-story in a second), stuffing Christmas Cards (Thanks Mom and David), and packing up our stuff at his parents house.
David and the groom
While I was in TX for Thanksgiving David got rear-ended in my car (thanks hunny). Luckily, he was fine and the damage was minimal, just smashed back lights on one side, dents and scrapes on the bumper. David was able to find my exact SUV, color and everything at the scrap yard (not sure what you call where you put cars that have been in accidents, the dump?). Anyways, this SUV only had front damage so he was able to purchase the whole back end and replace it to save a little money.
Pretty centerpieces for the cocktail hour. Looks like someone has been on pinterest. Super cute.
We are getting excited only 2 more days until closing! I have transferred almost everything to the new house and scheduled a chemical free carpet cleaning for some of the rooms. We have our final walk-thru tomorrow after work and closing Wednesday afternoon! Pin It

Working Like Daddy

This past weekend we went downtown to visit David's work to take some Christmas photos. Max wanted to be put to work so he sat in his daddy's chair waiting for his next assignment. Have a great weekend everyone!

Molly is Having Surgery Today

David noticed a lump on Molly's right leg (opposite of her past surgery leg) while I was in TX. He waited to see if it would go down and it didn't so he went in to get it tested and everything came up normal. Then they did one more test Saturday that just came back that its a cancerous tumor. We decided to have it removed with an operation today in hopes it would get it all and she would be ok. There is really no way to know if its spread unless paying a ton for scan type thing so I guess you hope they get it all and wait to see if any other symptoms ever show up. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers today. Thanks
 Molly loves his Max.

And Max loves his Molly. Hug Time. FYI- this is a little sneak peek at our little photo shoot for a portion of our christmas cards, but I needed a good photo of Molly so there ya go.

**Update** The vet called before surgery to let me know that the mass is a cancer called sarcoma. It doesn't tend to spread, but it is very locally invasive. He is going to take out the tumor and a wide margin of the connective tissue surrounding. One of the bad things about this type of cancer is that they love to come back he said. It could be 6 months, 6 years or never. He called right at lunch to let me know that surgery went well and he got the tumor out and a lot of the connective tissue around. She was just waking up and I can get her after work. So glad she is out and am hopeful this is gone forever. Thanks for the well wishes for my baby, Molly. Pin It

Book of Lists Series: December Wish List

I was reading through my blog roll when I saw a fun monthly blog series a fellow blogger had started. Kathleen from Kapachino started a Book of Lists series. Every month there will be a new topic to build a list on. I don't know about you, but I love making lists. It keeps me prioritized and focused. I have a bunch started on my iphone at any given time. I missed the start of it last month where you were suppose to find a blank notebook or assemble blank pages and decorate the front. As you can see below this is my blank book I found laying around.
I will have to come back to this part.  December's topic is Wish List. You could go big wishes, small wishes or just your Christmas list. I did a combo.

  • I am really hoping the beginning of December flies by because we close on our house December 12th and I am excited to get in there.
  • I hope packing up/moving day and everything leading up to closing goes smoothly. We want to get the carpets cleaned and hope the condition of how they leave the house is desirable.
  • I wish for a job/career where I can earn the same or more money at a something love doing.  I just feel that I haven't completely found that yet and look forward to finding that hopefully soon.
  • Since we got back from Texas Max has been waking up around 11:30pm and whining for a bit, then sleeping then whining until I get annoyed and go in around 1am and feed him. He goes right down after that luckily but I am not sure what that is about. Let's get back to solid night time sleeping.
  • My sister, her husband and new baby Hadley will be making a move to their new base next week in MS. They will be going to their new house and driving 12 hours with a newborn is not a piece of cake so I wish for them safe, easy travels.
  • I would love to remodel/decorate our new house right away if limited funds wasn't in the way (it's a wish list right, so a girl can dream).
  • A happy, healthy, wonderful holiday season to all our friends and family
  • Since we did Max's Where the Wild Things are Nursery wall vinyl I have been wanting to explore different craft projects using one. We have to redo his nursery soon and I have been eyeing large scale vinyl cutters.
  • Lastly I wish for a friendly neighborhood where Max will be able to play in the culdesac and meet other kids and for us adults to enjoy being friends and neighbors.
Next months topic is "looking forward." This can be related to your 2013 goals for the year or what you're looking forward to. The posting date is January 7th if you want to start blogging on this fun series, too!

Our Trip to Visit Hadley

Well it's back to work over here. It's hard to get back in the swing of things after being out for 2 weeks. Here are some photos from our trip to visit little Miss. Hadley.
First time cousins seeing each other for the first time.

Hadley had her newborn photo session while we were there and she was a little cooperative angel. Wait until you see the pictures (we haven't seen them either, but I did catch this one from afar on my phone).
Hadley also had her first real bath since her cord fell off. She really enjoyed it, not a lot of fussing.
We dressed her up for Christmas so my mom could take some photos of her and Max together.
Such a precious girl. We miss her already.
Here are some other phone pics I snapped. Max discovered Hadley's hospital balloon and carried it around for a while.
Sweet girl taking a yawn. She was so hard to wake up from sleeping to eat.
On Thanksgiving day it was in the 70's and super nice so mom and I went down to the pool to hang out. Max dipped his feet (the water was ice cold) and wanted to go in more, but Gigi held on tight.
We kept Max busy playing outside, found a park to swing at and took lots of walks. Maddie got tired after a while and we put her in the stroller basket. She really enjoyed it more than walking. It was funny.
Gigi and Hadley. We are sad our trip is over, but ready to get back into the routine here. Even more ready to close in 10 days! Hurry up days. Michelle and James will be moving around the same time to Mississippi. Pin It

We Loved Our Time in Texas.

I have been a bit MIA from the blogging since being in TX. I was trying to help soak in my time with little Miss. Hadley and help them out. Let's be honest for a minute though, Mr. Max required a lot more attention than I was able to give to Michelle and Hadley. He wasn't a great sleeper and wanted you to pay full attention to him 24/7. We will miss them when we leave today, but will see them in their new home in Mississippi for Christmas.
Sisters and our babies! This was from Thanksgiving.
We put Max in his gingerbread boy outfit after Thanksgiving as it is fair game for anything Christmas at that point. He's started doing this scrunchy nose face for some pictures. Such a cutie, please ignore my face.
He is such a happy boy though despite his lack of sleep these past weeks. We even took him to see Christmas lights at the Ranch here. We drove thru and he really enjoyed it, although he thought it was time to sleep because it was dark out at 6pm. We're ready to throw the baby at see David and get ready to move into our new house. Miss you guys, see you soon!
