Sick

Well we had a lovely sprinkle for baby girl on Saturday and ever since then it's been down hill at our house. Actually it started early that week for the kids and my sister. Stomach bugs, colds, snotty messes, coughs, sleepless nights, double ear infections. You name it we have all had it. It's never ending it seems. Thank goodness it's spaced out enough to have one of us available to take care of Max (usually my mom- we wouldn't make it without her or my sister when she was here). Max is on the up swing and hopefully we all are too. My head is just stuffy/full and my chest hurts to cough. Sorry about being MIA. I have posts to put up but all that sounds good is my bed so hopefully soon. Being sick and pregnant is not fun. This one is a doozy. Send over the hazmat cleaning team.

Pregnancy Survey #2- 31, 32 & 33 Weeks

How Far Along:  31,32 & 33 weeks (sorry I lost my camera memory card so I was behind)

Size of baby: This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds

Total Weight Gain: 19 ish lbs

Sleep: Still up to pee a few times a night, but sleeping pretty good with my pillows

Symptoms: Feeling pretty good. The summer heat is here and I am thankful only to be pregnant for 1 month of it!

Cravings: I am loving desserts after dinner these days. It's becoming a must, but who doesn't!

Gender- Baby Girl!

Movement: She moves around a lot. You can definitely see it if I wear tighter shirts from the outside.

Maternity Clothes: Yup, dresses are becoming way more comfortable than regular pants so I am loving those for work.

Best Moments this week: Well I am way behind in blogging and such so these past weeks it's been great having my sister here while mom is on vaca. She's been working so hard to take care of both our kids and she is just the best! It's fun to hang out with her after the kids go to bed and we can eat and watch shows or whatever.

What I'm looking forward to: My sister and mom are hosting a little sprinkle for baby girl with close friends/family saturday! It's going to be so fun to see everyone and see lots of pink!

Milestones: Well these aren't exactly all baby girl related, but I will share them anyway. The pacci is successfully taken away from Max. He can even be in the same room when Hadley has hers and if it falls out he nicely runs over and picks it up for her. Such a good boy. He is also successfully sleeping in his big boy twin bed... and not getting out. Although he has never tried getting out after we said goodnight (he will if we are getting ready for bed or playing upstairs, but he knows when we mean business).  He sometimes cries, but now its for a very limited time, so thankful. I also got baby girl's curtains. I had good taste on some other fabric for curtains I wanted, but at $50 per yard that was noooooot happening. I went with plan b and found the 2nd best thing off craigslist (I know you prob. think how cheap I am, but I am telling you- why buy full price when there are like new items out there). We have set to work on baby girl's room memorial weekend and really get that going. We might also potty train Max. He starts swim lessons the 19th. So lots going on still plus much more not noted.

Easter Egg & Basket Time!

Here is the last of the Easter photos. I guess I should have done one post, but there are just too many cute photos not to share individually.

We decided try this pinterest Easter egg tutorial because it seemed easy for buddy to participate. We used cool whip instead of shaving cream as advised for people who might lick. It dyed the eggs, but not very well. I would say pinterest fail.

I love that his tongue is out while he concentrates. You roll the egg in mixed cool whip/food coloring.

He had fun so that's all that matters.

You're supposed to let them sit for 10 mins and we did way longer so that wasn't the issue. Then you just pat dry or use a little cold water to rinse.

Look at that face! He kept doing that after he would search an area. He just got done looking in the back of his bike compartment. He really got into it and understood that we were looking for something.

Nope, not here. Daddy and Max in matching shirts. Max has been refusing to wear any polos, button ups or any nice shirts in general. We are going to be the parents who send their kid in the same shirt every day. My mom calls this the independent 2's instead of terrible 2's.

He was pretty excited. Of course he noticed the big bubbles and then went straight for the m & m's. He loves his chocolate.

Off he went in search of his other Easter gifts. What a spoiled little boy.

I wish he would have turned his head so you could see the face. He was doing his happy dance.

Here is his happy dance. He was very excited about everything. We couldn't ask for a better reaction. Precious boy. Check out the rainforest in the back windows! It's all filling in now and just so pretty!

Egg Hunt # 2

On Saturday afternoon we had a neighborhood egg hunt. The weather was a bit windy with threats of rain so we weren't sure it was going to happen, but it did!

We started by greeting some friends, well Max was busy with his basket, but Olon wanted to say Hi.

Ready, set, go!

We each brought 12 eggs pre-filled so they let them all get 12 eggs first and then we could go back later if there was extra. I liked it that way so that everyone got at least what they brought. No tears for kids without eggs.

In he goes! He also discovered things inside the eggs for the first time. At school and practicing at home we never put anything in the eggs so he was busy shaking the eggs a lot of the time.

Max's bff Noah was helping him get some more eggs.

BIg Boy Day

We decided it was time for Max to officially become a big boy and get rid of his pacci. He is a little over 2 years and 2 months old (wanted to document that for the date). When we'd talk about it he knew he didn't need it anymore and wanted to give it to other babies who did need it. We wanted to make sure he knew it wasn't going to baby sister so he wouldn't have any resentment towards her for taking it. David and I were both off on Friday so we thought it was as good a time as any.

Right after we drove down to Atlanta to go to the Children's Museum. The kids were all supposed to be off that day, but with all the snow days it was a makeup day so I didn't think it would be as crowded... I was wrong. Bus loads of kids came.

He had fun exploring around. They had farm to table area with kitchen play, slides, water/fishing area, painting, pipe building, sand, trains and more.

I knew he'd like to fish as he tries to fish with rope or anything he can find at home. I will have to get him his own fishing station now that the weather is warmer.

He caught one (well maybe Gigi helped)!

One of his other favorites was the pipe station. They had holes all over and you could put pipes in each one and add blocks and fittings. He was in his element here, such an engineer already. I do have to say that we were good about getting not a lot of kids in the photos, but trust me it was packed out. I also didn't love the price. At $13ish each (parents had to pay too) I wasn't a big fan. I thought the place would be a lot bigger, too. We did get to go to IKEA while we were down there and got some great ideas for our basement kitchen/bathroom areas so that was a fun end to the day. Ok back to the big boy day. He napped in the car/some of IKEA so we didn't have to worry about the pacci at nap time. Next up was bedtime. I've heard stories from parents saying their kid asked for it, but once they said it was gone their kid was fine and went to sleep... For those other half of parents where that wasn't the case... I FEEL YA. My poor little buddy. It was ROUGH. He was VERY distraught. He understood it was gone and knew that he mailed it off, but he was crushed. Very sad. This was almost as bad as our early 6 month cry it out phases. He cried/screamed for over 45 minutes. Going in wouldn't have helped as I knew what he wanted. We didn't cave and he did not make a peep after that for the whole night. He was happy and excited to be a big boy the next day... Stay tuned for big boy bed update.
