Sauce-A-palooza 2015

Back in July (I think) we decided to do a little tomato canning! It is a lot of work and cost, but worth it.
Michelle starting us out by putting sugar and salt into the jars.  I couldn't find a lot of regular mouth lids so I had to get some wide mouth. Note to self-we prefer regular mouth so order online ahead of time.
If you know Karen, then you know she does NOT like tomatoes at ALL. She was nice enough to come hang out with the kids for a bit though!
I helped mom wash, cut and squeeze the tomatoes.
Vannah White pose.

Max helped David grind up the tomatoes into juice/sauce.

Look how tiny Coco was!
We got 2 boxes of tomatoes. I believe they were 25lb boxes. Next time we need at least 3 boxes so 75lbs. They were $1/LB. We got them at a farmers market place close to where Karen lives. 50lbs only yeiled about 22 jars and we had some casualties in boiling them tight. We did make great use of the 2nd basement kitchen! NY Trip May 2015

Back at the end of April/beginning of May we took a trip to NY to visit family and friends.
Colette was 10 months old and did okay on her first plane trip. Max did excellent.
First stop was to visit great grandma!
We went to the childrens museum with our former neighbor and friends. She recently moved back to NY AND had her 2nd baby boy! Man, I should have blogged about this all a lot sooner.

We visited with cousins
Ate the best food ever!
Went to the best store ever... WEGMANS (numerous times).
Played at playgrounds.

My brother joined our crew and we went to dinner one night with dad and grandma.
Went to lake ontario!
More great grandma visits and playing in her big backyard.

My pictures are out of order, but we had fun at the airport back playing at the little play area in Rochester.
Sweet cousins and family.
We went to my high school friend, Kristin's house where she has 5 kids so we fit right in!
So glad we all got to get together.
Coco had a blast and also has no hair. So funny.
The yard sizes are so big up there. So funny story. Max saw a play set in the neighbors yard (Kristin has one, too) and he thought we were at a playground because the yards are so big, but I had to explain that each family might have their own.
Best group photo we got. Pretty good I'd say.
We went back to the old hood and got to visit with Jen, Amanda, Sandie and crew.  Michael is now a big brother so we'll have to get a bigger wagon next time.

Amanda has also had her sweet baby girl Sarah and I wish we could all take a new photo with our babies soon!
Lots of years of playing in their backyard and then watching our kids run and play!
We went to a surprise 80th birthday party for my Aunt Janet.
More cousin time with Cole (who lives in NC).
My Aunt and all her kids, grand kids and great grand children!
Sisters... 3 of the 5.
My grandma and all her grand kiddos and great grand kids.
Grandpa and the kids.
The sleeping area where the littles were papoosed.
Proof David was on the trip. He was such a big help as usual so I could enjoy my friends and family. He is the best!
Impromptu photo shoot after the party.

So much love and such a great trip. A little late, but didn't want to forget to post.

Summer 2015

Seems as though we were busy in the summer enjoying all that the Georgia heat has to offer so let's see what we were up to.
We started off memorial weekend with a wedding up at Frogtown Vineyards.
David and myself played DJ and had fun (guest phone DJ Michelle also in effect).
My sweet little one started out the summer so sweet and enjoying behind held at the pool and sitting in the chairs. By the end of the summer she was face planting in the water and trying to run into the big pool. I was glad to see the pool season close as she needs to calm it down.
The MOST exciting thing of the summer happened when David got his results back from his Professional Engineering exam that he took in April. HE PASSED! We are so proud of him! All the support from family, friends and neighbors as he studied day in and night out was awesome.

Coco got a taste of big bows and I cannot lie she did not enjoy them. Just wants to rip them off her head.
Max and Colette really started playing well together.
We used our big green egg a lot to smoke some pork butt. Mmmm
Purchased a new outdoor rug.
Played with all our friends and neighbors.
Our little daredevil was standing, climbing, walking and getting her personality. I can't believe how much her hair has grown after looking at these pics.

We got a new roof due to hail damage.
Before and After.
Coco got a chair of her own for her birthday from Auntie Marla and Uncle Chris.
Fun in the sun at Auntie Michelle's house. She has a fence now so it's not like we just let them play on a construction site all day (notice all the background dangers).
Baby Owen was born to my Cousin Christie and Adam. Coco realized she wasn't the baby of the family anymore.
Colette celebrated her 1st birthday with a flamingo party and the cutest dress from Karen!
Auntie Shelly taught Coco how to do a cheeeeeese face.
Cousin love!
It was now time for the 4th of July festivities.
I'm not sure why Max was wearing his spiderman costume. It was red, white and blue?
We watched fireworks at his parent's neighborhood.
We were there too, just papoosing away since it was getting late.
David found this somewhere. Don't ask. But you will now know where the party is at.
I finally somewhat decorated the downstairs guest bedroom.
We went out to a date night/ dueling piano show with some family, friends and neighbors. Shout out to Heather our baby sitter.

We watched more fireworks at Sugar Hill.
Colette stayed home with Gigi since it was very late.
We wore safety glasses since we were so close to the action. Safety first! That's David for ya.
We had our neighborhood culdesac annual 4th of July party. We had a very unfortunate incident with a firework so all I will say is have many safety precautions and be smart/safe.

Lots of kids, games and fun!
Pie eating contest with whip cream.
Minute to win it cookie game.
Water balloon toss.
The baby zone.
Adult time!

Chris and Marla came for the weekend to visit!

Messy girl loving her some oreo pie!
Colette tending to the garden.
Max showing us that the carrots aren't ready.
First time to the movies with Hadley and Auntie Michelle!
Play dates with some friends from school.
More fun with sissy.
Pretty sunsets.
Matching shirts with Daddy.
Max's t-ball debut (more to come on that in another post).
Also note Colette's first pony.

Somebody wasn't feeling well.
Fun play time at the pool with her bf Andrew.
Visits with friends! Miss you Leah.

Trampoline fun. See I told you she got a fence.
And birthday Ice cream Treats! Seems as though I only got up until beginning of August so more to come in another post. I'm tired just looking at all the fun things we did! Hope you had a great summer, too! 2 posts in one week- I know you are impressed! Pin It
