Baby Girl Nursery Brainstorm

I've been very go with the flow this time around with all things baby girl, hence she still doesn't have a name at all. I also didn't really start planning a nursery because I don't know when she'll be when. My mom is in the room the nursery will be most likely (we like location and such) so the basement has to be done for us to move baby girl in so no rush. I also knew I didn't want a full on pink room, but still very girly. Well my awesome neighbor asked if I had any nursery theme and I said no a few months ago  and she offered up a pottery barn set she had from a while ago. She tried to consign it, but they didn't want to offer her barely anything so she saved it for a better home. I feel honored she asked if I wanted it. Once I found out one of the main colors in the bedding set was purple I started pinning. I didn't want a purple room, and I just LOVE molding/chair rails so this is the perfect inspiration for baby girl.

She will have the white crib and I am thinking of doing the frames/chair rails like this.
Here are some shots of the actual crib bedding.

I love how it's not all purple and there are other colors like green, blue, yellow and white.
She sent over the crib skirt (left), bumper, pillow, sheets, sheer curtains and lamp shade.
Close up! So pretty.
I would also love to do curtains like this buffalo checkered in the purple and white if I could find material.

Max's Big Boy Room Renovation Plans

As I've said before, Max's nursery room never got redone when we moved (yep, been here over a year now).
We had set up a Where the Wild Things are nursery mural out of vinyl and the family buying it had 2 young boys so it was perfect for them. He will keep the same Wild Things theme (he really loves the book now) with a foresty/woodsy feel to his room.
Here is the inspiration pic (from Pottery barn when they carried the wild things theme). Luckily my sister bought the wild things sheets before they were discontinued last year.
This is Max's current room. He has a big wall that you see when you walk in the door. The ceilings are pitched as you can kind of see and to the right is the huge window (not sure why I didn't take a picture). His window is a big square and then has 2 side panels and a half circle arch above the big square one so lots of light.  We have black out panels and his curtains. Across from his crib is some wall space where we have his book and chair and then his closet.

His dresser/changing table are on the left wall. We decided to give the white nursery furniture to baby girl including the glider. Max will get a new big boy bed (twin), dresser and all that in a dark wood color probably. Did you know that beds/furniture is ridiculously expensive for nice stuff? Well, it is. I am still searching for the perfect things. The existing beige in the walls is pretty nice and this room must not have been used much as there are no marks on the walls like in other rooms.
We decided to paint the one wall where his bed (current crib wall) is on a foresty green. I picked a bunch of paint swatches as you could see in the past post and decided on Porter Paint's Dill.  I painted a poster board so we could see how it would look in different lighting in the room and with the bed quilt. My cousin Adam is going to paint his wall as his birthday gift (thanks Adam in advance!).
Here is Max modeling his sleeping with his quilt. Looks pretty comfy, buddy! I'll update you once we finish/start this! Pin It

Pregnancy #2 Surveys: Week 25 & 26

How Far Along: 25-26 Weeks (actually 27 weeks just a little behind on the surveys)

Size of baby: The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches

Total Weight Gain: 11-12lbs

What I miss: Nada, but maybe a glass of wine to be in Napa Valley with my sister who is on vaca to Cali!

Sleep: Sleeping pretty good with the occasional bathroom breaks

Symptoms: Feeling pretty good just get tired by 9pm every night unless I nap during the day (on weekends).

Cravings: I have this cereal obsession that I usually eat some before bed each night. It can't be healthy cereal it has to be captain crunch with berries, cinnamon toast crunch, lucky charms (now I am craving that after seeing all the St. Patrick's day treats) or something along those lines.

Gender- Sweet baby girl. No name yet.

Movement: She's a good little mover.

Maternity Clothes: Looked all over for consignment maternity pants and they don't have my size anywhere so I will be purchasing new pants for work here soon. My shirts/sweaters are all def. too snug, but just trying to wear what I have.

Best Moments this week: Finished taxes (yay basement savings!) & picking a paint color for Max's accent wall. Just doing little things since David's still busy studying for another month.

What I'm looking forward to: Enjoying nice weather with my buddy and working on some basement cost estimates.

Milestones: I had my glucose test last week (26 weeks). I haven't heard back yet so we'll see!
Don't mock my pants. I'm telling you, I need maternity pants that fit so I changed into my comfy pants after work and didn't want to change back.

I asked Max where his baby was and he lifts up his shirt of course! Silly boy.

What we've been up to!

Sorry about being MIA, I've just been taking more Iphone pics than anything else so I will show you what we've been up to the past weeks.

Miss Hadley and the gang came for a visit before their trip out to Cali. We enjoyed yummy food at Fishtales on Lake Lanier. Max and Hadley were big enough to plan in the GIGANTIC sand pit they have almost unsupervised (still have to help at certain areas). Max was very hesitant about the sand as he really has never loved it. As soon as he saw Hadley though he had to go and we let him keep his shoes on.
I had to document this, but my sister BRINGS her own personal dust pan and sweeper in her diaper bag? She cleans up after Hadley and I thought it was hilarious. I mean I am all about cleaning up, but we usually use just a paper towel and scoop it on up.

My cake balls I made... First time ever and the actual cake ball part was fun, but the dipping in those candy melts didn't go as smoothly as I was hoping for. They still were yummy though.
We had lots of fun at the playground with cousin Hadley also!
I started brainstorming paint colors for Max's big boy room wall accent. I will share detailed room plans on another post.

This is the bedspread I was going off for my color choice. We ended up choosing Dill (far right) and it's hard to see the match because of the placement.
My little painting helper on Saturday. We had beautiful weather once again and I read a tip to paint a poster board instead of the wall so Max helped me paint.
He only painted on his piece for a few minutes then he wanted to help Mommy of course. He did a great job, although we did get a little paint on the deck... Tarp next time for sure.
We're baby sitting Michelle's animals and Maddie has to be all over you while sleeping. She took her spot on Baby girl one night.

Our sweet girl Molly had to have another surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. It is in the same spot as the last one and they did warn us about it coming back. We were hoping it wouldn't be this soon  (only 1.5 years from the last). We had it removed again and are hoping they got it all. The DR. said he did have to take a lot of muscle. We are being adamant about her wearing the cone because last time you'd turn your back for a second and she'd be taking out her staples. She has stitches this time, but don't want to deal with it opening back up like last time. She really is recovering very well though. She wanted to go for a walk Saturday (3-legged hop) and was insisting on going up and down all our stairs in the back to potty (must be some good pain meds).
I made some yummy banana bread yesterday and homemade spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. We went for 5 Guys and Icecream (thanks Mom) Saturday night because I didn't grocery shop so we finally went yesterday morning so I got to cooking. Everything was so good.
Max was being so sweet last night before bed by sitting next to Molly to keep her company while he ate his apple. Stay tuned to posts about Max's room and baby girl's nursery brainstorm. Pin It

Max's first trip to the dentist

They say you should go to the dentist around 1-2 years old, but I didn't feel like he was ready till he turned 2. Overall it was a great experience. The place was so kid friendly with toys, games and nice office staff. The hygentist talked with him and just counted his teeth. He wouldn't let her use the teeth cleaning device so they just brushed with a tooth brush. Speaking of which, he got a new Sully one! Dr. Chris made him feel right at home and Max only cried once when he laid down in the chair and Dr. Chris was looking in his mouth.

Of course Max wanted to play with the teeth! He got all dressed up in his flannel button up. Looked so grown up and cute.
Blurry photo, but we had fun together!

Happy Birthday Mom & a little Sympathy Snow

I meant to post these photos earlier (They are from last month), but just forgot. I know many of you are still seeing snow like this so this can be our sympathy snow as we enjoy our almost 60 degree day today.

Happy Birthday to my Mom/Gigi! It never fails that snow will still be on the ground up in NY for her birthday week so this can be a reminder.

How pretty!

Pregnancy # 2 Survey Weeks 23 & 24

How Far Along: 23 & 24 weeks

Size of baby: They say about 12 inches long and 1- 1 lb 4 oz in weight.

Weight: The scale only says around 8 lbs of growth, but my belly has definitely sprouted.

What I miss: Nada

Sleep: I'm getting good at getting up a few times for the bathroom and going right back to sleep.

Symptoms: Feeling good, just getting larger.

Cravings: Just always hungry as usual, craving nothing in particular. I could go for mexican as usual.

Aversions: Nothing.

Gender- A sweet girl! Nope, no names yet. Not even some choices.

Movement: She moves pretty good. I think they are just starting to be more noticeable from the outside. Max was so sweet this weekend, he was doing airplane on my legs and tries to jump around so I said you gotta be careful because of baby sister. He then lifts up my shirt (sticks his finger in my belly button) and then kisses and puts his head on my belly. So sweet. He wanted me to do it to him and I was telling David later that night and he thought David had a baby as well haha (he might, it's debatable).

Maternity Clothes: Last time around I wrote that I was wearing a few maternity jeans and same shirts, but I am busting out of my pants (I'm sure I've stretched them out forever) wearing them with my bella band. My shirts are also tight and I am much more comfortable in maternity stuff, just need to get more.

Best Moments this week: Enjoying the nice weather we've had on the weekends.

What I'm looking forward to: Picking out Max's big boy furniture and room planning.

Milestones: We might have found some furniture for Max's room. Waiting to see how it pans out, but I'll share a few design elements maybe this week on the blog. His room is first, then probably basement stuff, then little miss's room.  I did schedule maternity/Max's 2 year old pictures to be done April 13th so that's a good thing. Max also has his first dentist appointment this Friday.
23 Weeks.
Self timer work at it's best. Lighting is bad and Max stole his pacci's from his crib.
Max being his crazy climbing Monkey self in the background.
24 Weeks, not looking so great here, but it was the end of a long day.
I'll be 25 weeks tomorrow (I mean woah, only 15 more weeks left??) and my belly is definitely more round now.
